Being cuddled and nuzzled by supermodel Christy Turlington isn't a bad way to spend an evening. But for Pepe the Chihuahua, it was all in a night's work. Christy Turlington and Pepe were co-hosts of Animal Mukti (www.animalmukti.org), a recent fund-raiser for the Humane Society of New York held at the Jivamukti Yoga Center. The event combined "animal-friendly" food and fashion with the lessons of freedom and nonviolence taught in yoga. Jivamukti's program continues to support free spay and neuter programs at the ASPCA.

In other news, a new studio called East Yoga (www.eastyoga.com) has opened up in the East Village. Their Doga Yoga (or, more simply, "Doga") class seems to be very popular with yoga enthusiasts who take bonding with their dog to a whole new level. In addition to helping your dog with his sun salutations and downward dog, you'll learn special message techniques to promote canine circulation.
