How to Pick a Veterinarian

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

choosing-a-vet

You are trying to find someone to meet both you and your pets needs, a professional who has people as well as animal skills.
The best time to look for a vet is before you actually need one.

Look for people who have pets and approach pet care the same way you do, ask them for a referral. Get a recommendation from a friend, neighbor, shelter, trainer etc.

Google vets in your city or neighborhood, If looking for a specialist make sure they are board certified.

Ask to tour the vets facility, look for these things

Is it clean?

Are appts required?

How many vets are on staff?

Are there techs or other profl’s?

Are they caring, calm, competent and courteous?
